Senior Pastor - Rev. Jeffery (Jeff) Hamrick
Jeff calls Bostic, NC home where his parents and extended family still live. After attending Gardner Webb University in Boiling Springs, NC, he ventured to the big city of Salisbury, NC to study at Hood Theological Seminary. While in seminary, Jeff served First United Methodist, Cherryville as Director of Christian Education. He graduated from Hood Theological Seminary in May 2012 with his Master of Divinity Degree.
Jeff is married to Dawna Bauman Hamrick (for 37 years), a daughter, Kristin (married to Seth Austin) and our grandsons, Micah & Judah Austin. Our son, Timothy (wife Lisa) and granddaughter Charlotte.

Jeff has a big personality and he loves to smile and make people smile. His previous appointment was the West Forsyth Charge (Pfafftown—Doub’s Chapel, Elm Grove, and Pleasant Hill United Methodist).. Jeff loves being involved in active mission engagement within the local community. He enjoys living in the Troutman Community and working alongside the people and meeting new neighbors. Office Administrator
Gilda Pryor, the office Administrative Assistant for Troutman First, has served in this position for seventeen years. She lives in Troutman with her husband, Ed. Ed and Gilda have been married for thirty-two years. Gilda has two children Sarah (grandson, Hunter) and son, Micah (his wife Rocky). Gilda loves her church family.
Lay Leader and Youth Director
Julie Yager is Troutman First United Methodist's Youth Coordinator. She lives in Statesville with her husband, Jason (of 15 years). Julie & Jason have two children, a daughter (Jillian) and a son, (Jackson), five dogs. Julie has many interests, one in which is horse therapy. Julie also sings in the Praise Band with her daughter, Jillian. If you have a youth aged son or daughter, please reach out to Julie with any questions about planned activities.
Children's Director
Welcome our newest staff addition, Ms. Alice Ervin Ward. Alice is no stranger to the Troutman community as she grew up in the area. Alice has three boys & two girls (Cary, Kevin, Kelly, Christy, and Kimberely) and nine grand-children, and three-great grandchildren. Alice will be directing the children’s ministry program at Troutman First. Everyone is welcomed to join our children's activities and ministry.
Music Director
Meet our talented and dedicated Music Director & Organist, Mr. Kenny Overcash. Kenny is a home-town boy, born and raised here in the Troutman / Statesville area. You will often find Kenny walking from his home in Troutman to the church to practice the organ. Kenny does not meet a stranger, and is always willing to share his faith story with those who will listen. Kenny always has a smile on his face. Kenny would encourage you, come join the choir and make a joyful noise to the Lord.
Music Accompanist
Rosemary is the pianist for Troutman First United Methodist. She accompanies the Adult Choir and is very talented. Rosemary lives in Troutman with her husband Charlie, she has a daughter (Melissa) and son (Douglas) and three grandchildren with another one due soon.
Open Door Family Care Resources Contact
Jim Wollin serves as the Director of Open Door Family Care Resources, a 501c3 non-profit ministry started within Troutman First United Methodist Church. Jim lives in Charlotte with his wife Susan of (51 years). Jim is a member of Providence United Methodist Church of Charlotte, N.C.. Jim has two children, his son Jamie (and wife Hollee) serve as missionaries to Albania. Jamie and Hollee have three sons, Thomas, Luke, and Eli. Jim’s daughter Amy Glosson (and husband Brad) live in Charlotte. They have two kids (Connor, Audrey).
